Ford Motor Co. says it's shipping 2024 F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks, and the vehicles now are available to order online.

The automaker on Feb. 9 had placed a stop-shipment on the all-electric trucks made at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn because of an undisclosed issue resulting in the company saying it was extending its new quality check process. The automaker has revamped its production ramp-ups in an effort to catch issues before they leave the factory following a series of launches that faced costly quality issues and recalls.

The resumption of the shipments comes days after Ford said it was decreasing the price on the middle trim levels of the '24 Lightnings in response to where it sees demand with respect to its inventory level. The company also cut the second shift at the EV plant at the start of April.

The entry-level Pro model starts at $54,995, while the top-of-the-line Platinum begins at $84,995. The new Flash trim begins at $67,995, which was a 7.5% decrease from the price tag the automaker originally announced. The Platinum Black trim will be available to order starting in May.

The '24 Lightning includes technology to improve energy consumption, charge speed information display and standard features of the Tow Technology Package on the XLT trim and above. Ford BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, which is available on select trim, now has Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning.
