DETROIT — Not only did Eminem appear onstage at the NFL draft in Detroit on Thursday, but he also used the night to announce his forthcoming 12th studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)," is due out this summer.

A 30-second ad for the album aired prior to Eminem's appearance on the draft. The spot is positioned like an "Unsolved Mysteries"-style crime show, titled "Detroit Murder Files," and features a trench coat-wearing host discussing the "the blonde anti-hero" and how his "rude lyrics and controversial antics" led to the rapper's demise.

The spot features appearances from 50 Cent ("he's not a friend, he's a psychopath," he explains) and Eminem himself.

Dr. Dre announced a new Eminem album was due out later this year during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in March.

"The Death of Slim Shady" is Eminem's first album since 2020's "Music to Be Murdered By."

Eminem opened the NFL draft on Thursday alongside NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, with whom he appeared in a series of spots leading up to the draft, as well as several current and former Detroit Lions greats.
